PLANTING

A

STEM

THE
STORY

When I initially contacted Vanderbilt's Child Life staff, they explained that one of their objectives is to normalize life for their inpatients. Naturally, I wondered if there was an educational hole that I could help fill. Learning that their patients lacked fun science projects, I decided to create experiment kits so that hospital faculty can easily perform scientific activities at their patients' bedsides. Additionally, I created a manual so that the experiments can be reproduced once the initial supplies run out. As an avid student, I am always interested in expanding my knowledge about science, so I hope to provide Vandy's inpatients with an outlet to engage in and explore their own STEM passion.

ABOUT
ME

I am an Ambassador Girl Scout and currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed STEM subjects, and in the future, I hope to pursue a career in medicine. As a high school senior, I enjoy playing tennis, having photoshoots with my friends, and doing Pamela Reif's Youtube workouts. Other hobbies of mine include baking, drawing, and binge-watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. With respect to my school life, I am an ardent learner and hope to ignite the same passion that I have for science in other young people.
