The Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouts, which one earns through the completion of a leadership project that creates a lasting and beneficial change. This project must also include a sustainability factor and address a pressing issue in one's community.
For my Gold Award, I assembled 188 science experiment kits as well as designed a guide for inpatients at Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Each kit provides all of the materials required for the given experiment and can be performed at the patient's bedside. The manual itself includes a list of the supplies, detailed instructions, and a synopsis of what patients should learn after each experiment.
